Celeteque Acne Spot Corrector Gel Review

Thursday, August 14, 2014

Bad zits are my worst enemies. I don't want them to be on my face *LOL but I cannot control them especially when I was stress and had my monthly visit. My hands are so itched to prick them but it's a big no no! It can only irritate the pimples that may lead to dark spots. So today's review will be something to help us combat those nasty pimples!
Celeteque DermoScience+ Acne Solutions Acne Spot Corrector Gel w/ Hydroxyl Acid - Php 169.00
I actually got Celeteque because my favorite spot treatment from Bench is out of stock (you can read my review here). Thought I might regret buying this because I read some reviews that it didn't work for them. Good thing I gave it a try.

How Celeteque DermoScience™ Acne Solutions Acne Spot Corrector Gel Works?
Uses beta hydroxy acid (BHA) combined with poly hydroxy acid (PHA), which aids in exfoliating dead skin cells and helps in diminidhing pimples and other acne imperfections to achieve clear and smooth skin.
Contains Lilac leaf cell culture extract that helps reduce sebum production to prevent future acne breakouts.
Has a biotechnological complex that acts as a natural astringent and sebum controller.

Dermatology tested, hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic.

I bought this at Watsons for only Php 169.00. The product is placed in a rectangular box with a very simple design. It is stored in an elongated nozzle tube and covered with a cap which I find hygienic. There is an openings from both sides of the box that are sealed with circular adhesives to prove that the product is new and genuine.
It comes in one size only, but this 5 mL tube last me a whole month so it's really worth the price.
Ingredients List
Aqua (Water), Alcohol Denat., Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Gluconolactone, Salicylic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, Laureth 7, Farnesol, Maltodextrin, Methylparaben, Sodium hydroxide, Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea tree) leaf oil, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch hazel) water, Disodium EDTA, Hamamelis viginiana (Witch hazel) extract, Sodium Metabisulfate, Syringa vulgaris (Lilac) leaf cell culture extract, Linalool, Aesculus hippocastanum (Horse chestnut) seed extract, Faex (Yeast) extract, Niacinamide, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Panthenol, Zinc, Gluconate, Ethylparaben, Caffeine, Propylparaben, Biotin
Sadly, it contains paraben. But I'm glad it has an expiration and manufacturing date on the tube and on the box.
The nozzle is really great because the amount of the product can be easily controlled when you squeezed the tube. Make sure that you store this product in an upright position (nozzle at the bottom) because the product become harder and harder to get with continued usage and when its more than half empty.
Its consistency is thick. The scent is quite nice. It reminds me of those ointments that you can buy in drug stores although its a clear gel type.  The gel leaves a cooling effect once you applied it on pimples. I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes I felt some stinging sensation when I applied it on big pimples. Oh, don't worry because it's bearable and just for a second only. Small amount is enough. Just make sure that the affected area is coated properly.

I put the product into a test. Let's see how it cure my annoying zit. *sorry for the blurred photos.
As you can see the product has done it's job although it took several days (small pimples) and weeks (for cystic acne) before the pimples are gone. The photo in Day 1 is right before I used the corrector gel. I prefer applying it at night right before I go to bed. The effects of the product are not immediate maybe because it's not strong like others. But I think the pimples will reduce faster and dries quicker if you use it both day and night. The only thing I didn't like about this corrector gel is that it leaves faint dark spots/scars that you can see on my Day 3 and 4 photo although it can be easily remedied naman. hehe. The scent is quite nice. It smells like a typical ointment that you can buy on drugstores.

WHAT I LIKE:
 Affordable for Php 169.00 only
Effective in minimizing and drying active zits
 Doesn't irritate my skin

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
 Available in one size only
 Always out of stock
 Contains paraben

WILL I REPURCHASE? Maybe. I want to try other acne corrector gels that has fast results.

RATING:   - 3 out of 5 hearts

WHERE TO BUY: Watsons, SM Department Stores and to all leading drugstores nationwide

    1. Your skin might has been dried. Try using a moisturizer, but i prefer a water-based one and not the oil-based since it may clog pores easily.
