Coronavirus is a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. These viruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people.
It is normal to feel fearful and anxious during this time of the pandemic. With proper hygiene, keeping a healthy lifestyle, and following safety precautions, we all can fight the spread of the disease.
As the Government commands the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila and other areas in Luzon until the 15th of May 2020, there are things we can still do or continue doing while at home during this pandemic.
Get in touch with friends and loved ones - Reaching out to them either on social media or phone calls is such a small thing to do. It can make both parties feel so happy and special. Why not revisit your funny memories together, right?
- Workout at home - daily exercise will help you boost physical health, mental focus, and clarity. You can watch YouTube for free workouts and use this extra time to get in shape. It doesn't require a lot of space in your room or any equipment.
- Cook new recipes - This is a great way to make use of your time. Look for healthy recipes to ensure you and your family are getting enough nutrients and vitamins. Baking is a great way to do with your kiddies during this isolation period as well.
- Compile your work - Make a list of the projects you've been meaning to do and start doing them. It is also a good idea to make digital copies of your paperwork, update some notes, and even clear out your email inbox. Seriously, everything now is digital.
- Develop your creative side - Get crafty during the home quarantine. It doesn't matter what you create or how talented you are. There are plenty of resources you can read or watch to help your knowledge expand in whatever field you are in or wish to join or even do. And if you get good enough, you have a great talent that your friends will envy.
- Make a Spotify or Apple Music playlist for every mood.
- Read a book - Books are always a valuable use of your time. Why not finish those unread books that have been sitting on your bookshelf or Kindle or Wattpad, perhaps?
- Deep clean your room - Use your spare time by organizing your closet or anything else that needs some organization. Get rid of something that is not wanted or is no longer necessary. This way, you may have more space for things you love.
- Start a blog - about your passion. Whether you love food, makeup, or traveling, there are many blog topics you could write about and share your knowledge to help others.
- Rest - Get more sleep. Relax and take care of yourself. You deserve it!
